a time for changes and reflection...

What feels like a million years ago I started this blog to showcase my cards and scrapbook pages. Then life with 5 kids, work and exhaustion left little time for creativity or blogging.  Things are a little different now of course, the baby is heading off to college in the fall, I’m retiring in about 10 weeks, and Jeff and I are looking forward to time for us. But there are things I need to address first. The past year, living through a global pandemic and all its difficulties, has thrown a huge spotlight on what a hot mess I truly am.  I’ve been dealing with autoimmune issues since my 20s. Now in my 50s my weight has crept up, my heart has been affected as well my mobility and the sadness can be overwhelming.  So I’m on a mission to wade through the darkness, simplify my life and rediscover the person I was born to be.

Color Throwdown 5th Anniversary...

Image
Hello all!  It is hard to believe that I have been in stamping semi retirement for 8 months now but I decided to come out and play to help the Color Throwdown celebrate 5 years of color challenges.  I was blessed to be a guest design with them in February 2010.  my humble card:

a new year, a new beginning...

Hello all. I apologize for my long hiatus but I needed a bit of time off from all things crafty. Between my paycheck job in the world of retail and my mom job I was a bit overwhelmed, with nothing leftover to get creative with. I took a leave from the Papertake Weekly design team and with great sorrow stepped down from the Our Daily Bread Designs team. This was not an easy decision for me at all. A place on the ODBD team was my dream. But I could no longer keep up the pace and I had no desire to let down Kelley or the rest of the team, so stepping down was the right thing to do. But I am not done stamping or creating. I will be back to it shortly, I promise. But on my terms and maybe with some changes. We will just have to wait and see. When I started this blog it was a slice of my life and someplace along the way it became all about someone else's stamps; first Stampin' Up! then all the other companies or blogs I have been been privileged to be a part of their design

I'm sorry...

Regretfully I will be taking a brief hiatus from stamping until into the new year.  I apologize and hope to be sharing with you again soon.  Thank you for understand.  Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas.

For my project I used the set "The Babe" which contains one of the sweetest baby Jesus images I have ever seen.  My image was colored with Copic markers, cut out with spellbinder dies then layered on BoBunny Snowfall designer paper.  My embellishments are simple just some big brads and the last bit of some ribbon I recycled. Now hop on over and visit the always fabulous Julie What I used: Our Daily Bread Designs The Babe SU baja breeze, early espresso, GP white BoBunny Snowfall V
